Great news from Charlie!

"In partnership with Jakub from Migrant Help and Gavin of Derby County Community Trust, we took 4 teams down to Loughborough University on Sunday for the Leicester City “Football Welcomes” Asylum Seeker / Refugee Annual Tournament.

Three of our teams progressed from the group stage to the knockout rounds where one was unfortunate to lose in the semi-final on penalties.

However, another of our teams was subsequently crowned champions after a closely fought victory over a strong “Rolling Smoke Loughborough” team in an entertaining final which was eventually decided in a tense penalty shoot-out.

Congratulations to all 36 players who enjoyed a great day’s friendly

competition, professionally organised by Joe McSharry and his welcoming team at Leicester City in the Community.
