All you need is love.....

Summarizing DRS activities, even for only one week, can prove to be quite a task!

On Thursday 25th, our volunteer tutor, Vanessa, gave a presentation about the Beatles! Forty volunteers listening and watched the slides and then had their own try at twisting!! This was followed by a live performance of one song and finally we all joined in with “All you need is love”

Twist and shout!

On Friday, our wonderful gardening team, along with Emily from @gardentowellbeing and Mandy, took a group of volunteers to Calke Abbey for a day in the sunshine, including the first picnic of the season! Also on Friday, Mohammed and Chrissy filled a van and drove it to Sharewear in Nottingham and Julie took a car load of nappies to a collection point for Ukraine!

And then on Saturday, we had so many volunteers hoping for an English class that two asylum seekers led their own groups! This, alongside a GCSE student and a yoga teacher! Whether it’s chatting, playing games or reading there’s a way for everyone to enjoy teaching English!
